Yosemite
Waterfall

- Woke up to six inches of snow, after the usual morning walk, we
headed back into the park. We spent most of the morning driving around
the park looking at the snow and scenery. Late morning turned to rain,
leaving a miserable day. New birds seen on this leg were american
dipper, stellar's jay, western bluebird, yellow-billed magpie and
western meadowlark.

- After the wet weather it was a pleasure to be heading towards San
Francisco, going via the central valley. The main reason for this
was to see yellow-billed magpie, after several arguments with my wife
about stopping. I succeeded in seeing several, this bird can only
be seen in this region of California. On route we stopped in this
old town for coffee, it was like stepping back in time. By afternoon
rain storms almost ground us to a halt, as we reached San Francisco
airport the sun came out again. We left our hire car and caught a
shuttle into the city, very expensive would have been cheaper to get
a taxi.
